Choirs Accompaniment Version of Album:
Hymns and Songs of My Mother

This accompaniment version is tailored for use by choirs. All vocals are excluded, except for descants. The descants are included because many choirs may not be accustomed to them, or may not have the very high soprano voices needed. Their inclusion enables choirs to provide performances that include the descants. The accompaniments in this version can also be used for hymns that were performed as solos on the vocal version of the album.

Just as for novice soloists, the accompaniments for choirs will be explicitly tailored for use by untrained average volunteer choir members accustomed to singing along with a clear melody lead. Thus, it includes a perceptible melody at all times for choirs to know exactly where they are in the accompaniment they are singing along with. While this is a departure from accompaniment recordings intended for trained singers, we chose to explicitly provide clear melody guidance for what and where the choirs are to sing.

Anticipated settings where this approach better meets the needs of choirs, includes churches where there is no band, organist, director, etc. to assist the choirs in knowing where to come in and what to sing. This choirs' version provides complete accompaniments, with everythihg the choirs need for singing along with it.
